They have coughed noxious smoke and given credence to an inevitable glorious end.

They’ve glazed watching children bend debted knee, scored on wealth, bled of health.

They’ve panicked awoke from a fading dream to defend the nightmare of an empire.

They’ve armed themselves with indifference, proudly guzzling the wages of earthly war.

They are death, they melody to purification mythology.
