I'm but a soft house cat, with nubbly cut claws, a little pet here, then there, and I'll purr.
But I can't be startled too quickly or I'll just jump around dramatically!
But if you approach slow, speak soft, you'll receive warmth abundantly,
And if you give me an entertaining toy I'll bop around for your humour.
But the only boxes I desire are the ones I jump into,
And the the only cages I'll bear are those I've chosen,
For I came not bound or chained but worked your fields still,
I watched you in your houses and protected your doors,
I was the eye of your family, the eternal watcher of days,
The catcher of nightmares, the alien enjoying your ways.
