Horseshoe theory is accurate, but in this moment, it is not left and right of the political swing.

It is the privileged and extreme poor and the contrasting manner in which they polarize.

The unhoused poor, lost to the paranoia of never knowing a safe home on watched streets, of the existential need that comes from hunger, and the escapist desire they feel led them to run from our overwhelming indifference. But their insecurity is a socially inflicted disease that tweaks their minds to long for speedy liberation from our collective mania.

And in contrast, the privileged, succumbing to the sociopaths lingering with them in unending housed comforts, those who have never questioned a meals eager appearance, and only taste bitterness for having to feel for others at all. Their security is a prison which seeks to contain others to maintain its lazy unchangingness, lavished greed, its paranoid fears and its emotional hardness.

And as polarization occurs, the privileged will always seek greater security and watchfulness of the poor to alleviate the growing insecurity they feel and observe around them. A sort of social schizophrenia develops from this ongoing polarization. A fracturing of common mind through the awareness of observation.

The privileged see insecurity growing in others, fear it, and so try to take more to feel secure. They can only do this by taking security from others. This could be more wealth, land, but mostly, investments in mass surveillance to patrol common spaces and beyond. The latter is a process of mental, not merely physical containment through the loss of unsurveilled common spaces. When one can barely speak their mind without being listened, or walk unseen. Our bodies have lived a process of physical containment for many centuries, machining in factories, toiling in tight cities, birthing armies, and being of wonderous athletic display. But now we face mental containment, a process that will last more centuries.

But the beginning processes of this mental containment, the all seeing-eye of society with its memory banks, create feedback loops of awareness which polarize through time, and its ending curvature coincides with economic collapse. And as this all-seeing observation increases within common spaces and beyond, it only facilitates our social schizophrenia as those sensitive minds live in constant awareness of the 'cruel eye' in the system that is always watching them and responding to their presence, and the wealthy and powerful always have reason to alleviate their fears, using such observational powers to do so.

But some security need by taken from them who watch comfortably in privileged fear.

And some insecurity need be relieved to those who were inflicted upon by fear’s greed.

For true security is shared together, it’s in the eye of agreement when we pass each other, that I know within my core, you and I are equal in this world and can live so, and more than this, that we all live as one here on our Common Near.

But if one eye fears to much, another's eye will grow insecure.

And when one hand takes too much, another’s foot will fall to misstep.

That is the horseshoe sweeping clear, clanging spiral around a metal spike to fall in sand.
