Watching a glitzy-eyed media offer king-making coverage, and then turn around all dewy-eyed and innocent, as if they’d been the fairest talking-heads, is so darn cute!
But as always, a grey-haired crew of managerial chatterers dwell at the centre of the world. Such legacy within the media, holding back the younger or more radical voices that might favor more dramatic reform. Yet, so important to be heard, the voice of the moneyspeaking boom-boom-boom.
And you're all so far removed from what everyone else notices - that your chatter is a specific form of in-groupery. Not far from a YouTuber's rambling channel.
But hey, I’m an understanding type, and it’s clear you media folk got really startled by a fascist trade war - even though anyone with half a brain could’ve seen it coming since the election south was lost. And what was the media doing during the growth of that obvious problem? Labouring on about balanced budgets and talking down a 'disruptive' woman who’d been holding this country together under a ping-pong prince’s clingy authoritarian tendencies, his out-of-control spending habits, a run-away economy, and the first trade turf.
But that fear, that ‘awakening’ you had, is what brought about your mad-dash reaction to look for an authority figure. And from it, you all rushed to the quickest option to sedate that sentiment. Surprise, surprise, it was a celebrity man! And unsurprisingly, he was a moneyman - someone your elite hearts truly swoon for. For he offers you the continuation of moneyspeak, that language of the upper classes. Some might call it patriarchy, but I don't want to get in the weeds here.
But it has certainly not been fair, so stop lying to yourselves and take some responsibility for your bias, you spoiled children! You directed the conversation, but you did not expand on it for the benefit of everyday people. And it seems like you’re just starting to notice what you did, which is why you’re now defending your innocence so assuredly. Got to keep that glowing saintly face, right?
"Mirror, mirror in the camera, who's the fairest media-talker, the most unbiased moneyspeaker?"
I try to be fair by being honest and up-front about my biases, not jostling around like my mind wasn't made up about the candidate I preferred. This often makes me messy, but I'm not trying to hide behind a smile or talking point to cover my obvious bias and present falsely as an ‘intellectual above-it-all’.
Yet, within all this, I'm also practical, and I know my truest enemy is a pug-headed fascist bleater decked out like a corn-cob capitalist. But you folks and your obvious upper-class media bias, and its obsession with moneyspeak over people-oriented policy, weakens our democracy and its ability to exist as a visionary state. You are being self-invested reactionaries, not intelligent long-term thinkers.
Money always makes you live quick for the moment,
But caring for people makes you think for the future.
This banker is a representative of this gilded aristocracy and a mirror of yourselves. You even presented him as the shoo-in leader for a trade war before he was seated! You talking-heads made your choice early on, as soon as you heard this celebrity banker's name. And none of this is to mention the obvious haunting influence of a well-networked and authoritative unhappy prince trying to control his legacy.
And your swooning has occurred as this banker shadow campaigns, putting nothing on the table. Meanwhile, others are putting forward real policies that should be discussed at length - or at least far beyond the celebrity nature of a dazzling globe-trotting banker wandering the nation with a delicious smile and waving a flag. You all might be a bit celebrity-brained, having spent too long in front of a camera, expecting old strategies to win, as you roll in erratic polling. I'm not even sure why you bothered with a primary if you were all going to be so overwhelmingly biased upfront.
And now you have a pre-elected candidate who talks well to moneyspeakers and smiles great with a grey-haired crew. But has he posted a single plan to webpage that is in favour of everyday people? No! It is a page of celebrity smiles alone! There is no accountability to be held to in the future. No vision. An empty canvass for a gilded aristocracy to write their desires upon and for everyday people to lose faith in. This banker is running a policyless shadow campaign on the fear of a trade war for which he has no experience!
Celebrity, celebrity, celebrity of a wayward gilded aristocracy!
And conspiracy, conspiracy, conspiracy for everyday people!
By your fear, by your unacknowledged bias, you have weakened this country. You have allowed a candidate who smoothly speaks your upper-class language to bypass the rigor of a fair media system. And an easy media pass in the primaries is a weak candidate for the general.
And spectacular celebrity aesthetics is not good symbolism,
Nor is biased media agreement an intelligent democratic function.
You all are so self-unaware…
But obviously aware enough,
To try dismiss your obvious bias.
For egoism always tries to save face,
Where a human takes responsibility,
And looks for ways to amend honestly.
I'm not out here whining cause my candidate isn't winning,
I'm disturbed by how quickly, without vigorous discussion,
You in the uppers elected your blank-canvass candidate,
And how ridiculously unfairly so many in media swooned.
You have once again betrayed people's trust,
So why would people believe what you say,
And why would they be excited to vote this party?
How do you expect to engage people,
If you wrap up the race before it's started?
By stoking fear and petty nationalism alone?
Your party would've been stronger by building engagement,
Doing so through a competitive primary process of renewal,
Allowing people to see real differences of opinion and policy,
Instead of whittling it down to two debates to control narrative.
Let's hope you can win this election on nationalistic flag-waving alone,
And, of course, that glorious moneyspeaking smile of a shoo-in banker.
From my view though, it looks like some Queens are putting real policy ideas on the table that everyday folk might get excited about,
Meanwhile, it looks like this banker is here to service your high-class fears and glitzy-eyed needs for a shining white knight superman.
You upper-classes and legacy media made your choice, and you chose an image of yourselves.
Good luck with that...
